action

The focus is on 23-year-old Jimmy Chance, who still lives with his parents and works together with his father as a pool cleaner and auxiliary gardener. His monotonous life gets mixed up when he meets an exciting stranger, because after the first night of love, Lucy turns out to be a wanted serial killer and a few months later she informs Jimmy that he has become a father and should look after the baby after her execution .

When he brings his daughter Hope home, his chaotic family can't do anything with the offspring at first, but every family member tries to support the single father little by little in their own way . For example, his mother Virginia gives up smoking to finance childcare with the money he saves, his father Burt knows how to use his pool cleaning equipment creatively to protect Hope and his great-grandma Maw Maw, who is suffering from dementia, feels like a young mother again.

Jimmy is determined to bring Hope a happy childhood and to avoid some of the upbringing mistakes made by his parents who were very inexperienced as teenagers. At the supermarket he also likes to get advice from the cashier Sabrina, who finds the idiosyncrasies of Jimmy's family more amusing than strange. In the 14th episode of the second season, Jimmy and Sabrina become a couple, a few episodes later, in episode 14 of season 3, they marry.
