Greg García

Gregory "Greg" Thomas García (born April 4, 1970 ) is an American television producer who has developed several sitcoms , including My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope .

Life

Greg García grew up in Arlington County , Virginia and attended Yorktown High School . He then attended Frostburg State University in Maryland , where he took the Television Writing Program .

The first broadcast television episode that García wrote the script for was an episode of ABC sitcom Seven Home Alone in 1995 . In 1996 and 1997 several scripts for episodes of the sitcoms All Under One Roof and Built to Last followed . García developed the sitcoms Yes, Dear (2000-2006), My Name Is Earl (2005-2009), Raising Hope (2010-2014) and The Millers (2013-2014). With the series My Name Is Earl García was nominated for several awards. In 2006 he was awarded an Emmy for the script for the pilot episode of My Name Is Earl . In 2013, García 's two pilot scripts, Super Clyde and The Millers, were filmed, and The Millers was ordered as a series. The Super Clyde pilot was published online at García's request.

He directed several episodes of the My Name Is Earl and Raising Hope series . He also worked as a producer on the sitcoms he developed and, among other things, as a consulting producer for Family Guy .

García has been married since 1997 and has three sons. His youngest son played a younger version of the main character Jimmy in Raising Hope .
