Unity Chapel (Schildeck)
The unity chapel is located in Schildeck , a district of the Schondra market in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .
history
According to oral tradition, the reason for the construction of the unity chapel, which was built in 1866, was a pledge made by soldier Andreas Büch in connection with the German War . His son or nephew Michael Büchs was probably the founder of the chapel. Today the chapel is owned by the Vogler family, to whom Michael Büchs is said to have sold the chapel. In 1905 the chapel was enlarged under Leander Vogler; the result of this enlargement is probably the rectangular tower of the chapel. A “unity association” founded by the citizens of Schildeck is dedicated to the preservation and temporary restoration of the chapel.
Inside the chapel there are depictions of St. Anna , St. Mary and St. Joseph .
