tasks

Without being a cooperative , eft operates with a cooperative spirit. The eft cooperates with companies in the capital goods industry, trade and service industries. It bundles partners with good conditions and high quality products from all areas of the petrol station market for around 3500 free petrol stations in Germany (members of the Federal Association of Independent Petrol Stations and other independent petrol stations). She advises in the business areas of gas station construction and technology, commercial car wash and shop individually and through special publications. In addition, the eft is responsible for advertising and marketing. It takes on the poster and image advertising for bft-flagged petrol stations and has been publishing the industry magazine TANKSTOP since 2013 . In addition, with UNITI , the eft has been financing an annual, comprehensive sector study on the petrol station market since 2004, which illuminates the petrol station market. The Scope rating agency is preparing the study. In cooperation with the Bundesverband Freier Tankstellen eV (bft), the eft offers a further training concept for small and medium-sized petrol station companies as part of the bft academy .

history

Against the background of the 1973 oil crisis and the associated supply crisis of free petrol stations and to counteract the dependency on mineral oil companies, members of the bft founded the purchasing company Freier Tankstellen (eft) in Bad Soden on February 12, 1974. Goal: The organization of a joint strategic purchasing. An agreement made by the bft between politics and the mineral oil industry made it possible for the eft to purchase quota quantities of fuel for the entire medium-sized business sector at competitive prices. At the beginning of the 1980s, due to changes in the market, there was less and less need for the performance of these tasks, so that the eft discontinued the fuel business later. As a trading agent, the eft took over the supply of the bft members with lubricants in the corporate colors of the bft and with branded lubricants of their strategic partner Castrol . In 1981 eft moved from Bad Soden to the federal capital Bonn. Eft expanded its lubricants and trading business areas and began working with other companies in the capital goods sector in the context of trading brokerage. In 1998, the eft set up sales with a consulting service. She advises all free petrol stations, d. H. also non-members of the bft in the business areas of gas station construction and technology, commercial car wash, shop and employees individually and via various publications.

TANKSTELLE & MITTELSTAND - The petrol station fair

First petrol station fair

The first German petrol station fair was founded out of solidarity for the small petrol stations, so that they too had access to the opportunities offered by the large industrial companies. In 1983 the eft organized the first shopping fair for bft members on the company premises of the bft chairman Franz Förster, at the company Förster in Hanau. The event took place every two years until 1993 in Hanau and developed into an important performance show for medium-sized petrol station companies. In 1995 the trade fair was redesigned and took place under the name TANKSTELLE & MITTELSTAND as an industry fair for the entire German medium-sized petrol station until 2001 in Hennef / Sieg. With the event in 2003, the trade fair moved to Münster.
