The Introductory Magazine offers young people orientation while they are choosing a course of study and career: The youth magazine provides information on courses and training courses, portrays universities, companies and industries, presents routes abroad after graduation and gives application tips. The magazine is available free of charge at more than 3,000 schools in Germany, in the career information centers (BIZ) of the Federal Employment Agency and at other educational institutions and at trade fairs. The publisher is Anfang GmbH, based in Cologne.

history

Access GmbH was founded in 1997, the first edition of the start magazine also appeared in 1997. In the early years, the start magazine appeared twice a year, meanwhile four issues of the magazine appear annually. The last relaunch took place in 2012. The print edition of the magazine was discontinued in 2019.

subjects

The thematic focus of the introduction magazine is on the choice of study and career. Every issue includes

  • a cover topic that is devoted in detail to a specific industry or a specific field of study (e.g. retail, banking and insurance, engineering)
  • a multi-page special that illuminates a more general topic (e.g. application, dual studies, orientation, going abroad)
  • further texts, including course and job profiles, experience reports, colorful interviews and the fixed categories new courses , course news and training news .

In 2012, Access Magazine was the media partner of the science year “Future Project Earth” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research . In the course of this year, the magazine reported increasingly on courses with a focus on sustainability.

Events

Access GmbH organizes eight trade fairs a year for study and career choices throughout Germany and in this way brings together students, companies and universities. At the entrance trade fairs, the editorial staff of the entrance magazine is represented with its own lecture stage, the entrance magazine stage.

Web portal

The current as well as older issues of the Access Magazine are also available online as e-papers at Access. The website, which is updated daily, offers news and basic knowledge on the subjects of studying, training and starting a career at www.einstieg.com, as well as innovative target group-specific tools such as the entry-level career choice test and the "Zukunftsnavi" search engine.

Competitions

Since 2007, thestart magazine has been organizing the so-called cover voting every year: readers apply with their own portrait photos, and the users of Einstech.com then vote on the winner. He is invited to a professional photo shoot and adorns the cover of the next issue of the magazine.

Awards

In 2009, Access Magazine and Access.com received the Comenius-EduMedia seal . According to the Society for Education and Information eV (GPI), both products are characterized by their particularly valuable quality in terms of content, education and design.
