The census from 2002 gave the following result for the Opole Voivodeship with a population of 1,065,043:

The table contains all residents in 2002, including people without Polish citizenship. In 2002 it was only possible to name one nationality.

The 2011 census showed the following preliminary results for the Opole Voivodeship with a population of 1,016,212:
