Eione

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eione , Eion or Eiones ( ancient Greek Ἠιόνες ) is the ancient port of Mycenae . It was a foundation of the Dryoper . The place was named among the cities led by Diomedes in the Trojan War . Eione was destroyed and abandoned very early, so that Strabo no longer knew the location of the place.

Eione was probably with Kandia . Mycenaean remains were also found here on a small castle.
