The Magdeburg Railway Directorate was a railway directorate in Magdeburg , initially of the Royal Prussian State Railways .

The Royal Railway Directorate in Magdeburg was one of eleven railway directorates that were created in 1879 as part of the reorganization of the Prussian state railway .

When the Prussian State Railways merged with the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1920, the management was initially called the Magdeburg Railway Directorate , and from 1922 the Magdeburg Railway Directorate . In 1931 the management was dissolved, its routes were mainly transferred to the Reichsbahndirektion Halle , some also to the Reichsbahndirektion Hannover and the Reichsbahndirektion Berlin as well as the Reichsbahndirektion Altona .

In August 1945, on the orders of SMAD , the Deutsche Reichsbahn founded a new Reichsbahndirektion Magdeburg in the Soviet occupation zone . This was dissolved in 1990 and its area assigned to the Reich Railway Directorate Halle.
