Railway accident in Jinzhou
In the Jinzhou railway accident on December 29, 1930, a train was derailed . At least 80 people died.

An express train was on the way from Shenyang (then: Mukden) to Beijing . Between Jinzhou and Chaoyang , on a 25-meter-high embankment, robbers damaged the superstructure . As a result, they derailed the train's leading steam locomotive . She fell down the embankment, dragging three very crowded cars with her. When the locomotive crashed, there was a boiler explosion . This in turn set several of the cars on fire.
consequences
At least 80 people died, and a further 20 were kidnapped as hostages to extort ransom.
