the accident

During shunting work in Gostivar station , three tank wagons with a capacity of 40 tons each escaped and rolled away on the downhill section towards Tetovo . Shortly before, a two-part diesel multiple unit had left the station in the opposite direction. At that time there was no connection between the dispatcher and the driver . So the latter could no longer be warned. The collision was so severe that the front vehicle of the railcar was compressed to a length of only two meters.
