Emergence

From the beginning of 2005, the owner Lothar Hanisch from Dresden / Stuttgart planned to buy a dilapidated three-sided courtyard in the health resort of Rathen and the surrounding property in order to expand it into the world's largest garden railway exhibition with a small guesthouse for railway enthusiasts, cyclists and water tourists. After a two-year construction period (total investment up to 2013: € 1.9 million), the facility was opened in 2007. The "Railway Worlds" are a replica of the railway landscape of the Upper Elbe between the Bohemian-Czech Děčín and Meissen with a double-track main line and seven branch lines. The name of the exhibition was determined by awarding a prize in the Sächsische Zeitung and is completely “Railway Worlds in the Kurort Rathen”. Around 80,000 visitors from all over the world visit the facility every year. It is constantly being expanded and completed.
