Iron oxide yellow , and yellow oxide , iron yellow , outdated Oxydgelb ; chemically iron oxide hydroxide (αFeO (OH) as goethite; this can also be written as Fe 2 O 3 · H 2 O with the same ratio of elements ) is a yellow pigment .

Further names are ferrite yellow (or ferrite yellow ) and Mars yellow ( gypsum-containing types of amorphous structure), as trade names also ocher yellow or gold ocher .

The pigment is similar in color to natural gold ocher and is specified as DIN 3: 6: 1.
