The 1998/99 season was the 79th season of the Eredivisie , the highest Belgian ice hockey division . Olympia Heist op den Berg became champion for the tenth time in the club's history .

Hometowns of the teams in the 1998/99 season

First, the teams took part in the Coupe des Plats Pays, which was decisive for participation in the Eredivisie season. The four best-placed teams of the Coupe des Plats Pays qualified for the Eredivisie main round, the other two participants of the Coupe des Plats Pays then had to compete in the association cup. The three best-placed teams in the Eredivisie main round qualified for the final round, while the last placed team in the Eredivisie main round had to compete against the winner of the association cup to make it into the final round. The first two of the Eredivisie final round qualified for the championship final. Each team received three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a defeat.
