The Grefrather EisSport & EventPark is an ice sports center in Grefrath and consists of a multifunctional hall , a 400-meter outer ring ( speed skating rink ) and an ice skating tent with a total of 8,000 m² of ice surface. This makes it the largest ice rink in North Rhine-Westphalia . The sports complex is also a venue for concerts, shows, trade fairs, exhibitions, and various sports and corporate events. The EisSport & Eventpark belongs to Sport- und Freizeit gGmbH Grefrath, which belongs to the Grefrath community.
Construction and creation
The facility was built from 1970 to early 1972. In the autumn of 1971 there was the first opportunity to ice skate in the hall, the outside track (400-meter ring) and the outside field did not follow until 1974 or 1975.

sports clubs
Several ice sports clubs are based in Grefrather EisSport & EventPark:
- Grefrather Eissport Club (GEC) - ice hockey
- Grefrather Eissport Gemeinschaft (GEG) - ice hockey
- Grefrather Skate Club (GSK) - figure skating
- Speed skating club Grefrath 1992 (ECG) - speed skating
But other clubs from the region and the Netherlands also use the ice rink with its training facilities. The ice rink is also recognized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation as a federal base (youngsters) for speed skating.
Events
The multifunctional hall with an inner area of 1,800 m² is mainly used for events from March to September, but can also be used for events during the “Ice Age” from September to March by covering the ice. With the twelve rows of seats rising to the right and left, there is space for up to 6,300 visitors, with seating up to 4,500.
Around 20,000 m² of event and exhibition space is available outside.
