Elégance GmbH & Co. KG is a global specialist mail order company based in Düsseldorf . A dedicated design team creates ready-to-wear collections for women, which are presented every season in catalogs, on the Internet, in franchise shops and shop-in-shop concepts.
history
- In 1938 the company was founded by the Offergelt brothers in Aachen as a cloth business.
- In 1950 the new beginning took place after the Second World War. With three employees, it managed to sell high-quality fabrics directly to studios.
- In 1954 the first subsidiary was founded in France.
- 1955 : Foundation of the subsidiary in Austria

On August 15, 2014, it was announced that the company had filed for bankruptcy at the Düsseldorf District Court.
In early November 2014, the Düsseldorf District Court opened insolvency proceedings against Elégance GmbH and Elégance Service GmbH.
At the beginning of February 2015, Elégance was taken over by the real estate specialist TKN and transferred to the new company Elégance GmbH & Co. KG.
