El Cuarteto de Nos is a Uruguayan rock band that has been active since 1980.

Band history

The band was founded in the early 1980s by the brothers Ricardo and Roberto Musso in Montevideo . When they brought out their first publication in 1984 together with the musician Alberto Wolf , Santiago Tavella and Álvaro Pintos had already joined the band. In 1986, Soy una arveja, was their first studio album. Through extraordinary performances and through the album Otra Navidad en las Trincheras (1994), the band in Uruguay and other Latin American countries became more and more popular.

Four of her albums went platinum and six went gold . The album Raro (2006) went platinum nine times. For the single Yendo a la casa de Damián , the band was nominated for the 2007 Latin Grammy in the category "Best Rock Song ". The band won two Latin Grammys in 2012 as "Best Rock Song" for the song Cuando sea grande .

Members

The band is no longer a quartet, but a five-piece band with guitarist Gustavo Antuña and Santiago Marrero, because Ricardo Musso is no longer there. Born in Montevideo in 1961, Santiago Tavella studied architecture, painting and digital technology as well as musical composition and singing. He works as an author, curator and artist. He has exhibited some of his works since 1990, some of which are part of the collection of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Uruguay. In the band he is used as a bassist but has also played as a soloist since 2009.
