The Eldred Glacier is a 4 km long glacier on the north coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located immediately east of Potts Peak .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him in 1960 after Andrew Jackson Eldred (1846-1926), captain of the sealer Thomas Hunt from Stonington , Connecticut , who in the years 1873 to 1874, 1875 to 1876 and 1879 to 1880 in the waters the South Shetland Islands operated.
