The Electrisize ( spelling : ELECTRISIZE ; also Esize ) is a two-day music festival in the field of electronic dance music , which was first held in 2009 in Erkelenz . The festival has been taking place since 2013 in the gardens of a former monastery of the Kreuzherren , which is now called Haus Hohenbusch . The main stage stands in front of the well-preserved manor house .

history

concept

A special feature of the festival until 2013 was the deliberately staged change of event location. Special, rural locations such as castle ruins, country estates or parks with a special historical past are brought back to life over a weekend. Electrisize has been a guest at the former Kreuzherrenkloster Hohenbusch since 2013. The existing backdrop becomes part of the stage.

Beginnings

Electrisize made its debut on August 15, 2009 in Erkelenz's " Lahey-Park ". The second edition took place in October 2009 at the castle ruin " Schloss Leerodt " in Geilenkirchen with 750 visitors. Since the indoor premiere on New Year's Eve 2009/2010, Electrisize has been a regular guest in the Erkelenz discotheque “Auditorium”. For the 2010 edition, the superstar Avicii was committed. In 2011 the event was held repeatedly at “Schloss Leerodt” despite heavy rainfall. In the summer of 2012, almost 2000 visitors celebrated on the Erkelenzer Franziskanerplatz and in the town hall in the center of the city.

Line ups
