Electrocute is a music project that was started in 2002 by an American and an Austrian in Berlin . Electrocute's music is electroclash with strong rock elements.
history
In Berlin, Nicole Morier from Albuquerque founded the band Electrocute together with her companion Mia Dime after she had returned from a stay in Los Angeles in 2002. The style of music is inspired by Berlin's flourishing electro-pop , but mixes it with rock elements.
The record company Emperor Norton Records released the first EP and the first album. Then Mia Dime left the band and was replaced by Holly Doll from Johnson City (Tennessee) for the following tour, which led through three continents and, among other things, to the Big Day Out 2005 . In Australia, Morier came into contact with Legs Le Brock, who from then on joined Electrocute as a permanent member.
With a high number of concerts, Electrocute was able to develop a reasonable level of awareness. During live concerts, the duo is always supported by three other musicians. In addition, the band also contributed a song to the soundtrack of the films The SpongeBob SquarePants Film ("Bikini Bottom", 2004) and 21 ("Mad Pursuit", 2008).
In 2008 another EP, On the Beat , was released with the participation of the Dutch musician Junkie XL .
On June 11, 2009, another album called Double Diamond was released.
