Elena Gaponenko

Elena Gaponenko (* in Dushanbe , Soviet Union ) is a cellist and pianist living in Germany .

Life

Elena Gaponenko comes from a family of musicians, her mother is the music teacher Natalia Gaponenko. At the age of 4 she began to play two instruments and her training was professional from the start. After her parents moved to Moscow , she attended the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory and the Gnessin Special Music School . This was followed by studies in Germany at the music academies in Detmold and Cologne and at the Hogeschool voor Muziek Maastricht in the Netherlands, where she passed the concert exam in the subjects of piano and cello.

She is co-founder of the concert series "World Stars of the Future", which is committed to the establishment and the maintenance of interest in classical music, as well as the promotion of young talent and experienced musicians.
