Elena Hennig

Elena Hennig , born Elena Chitchko (born August 22, 1977 in Minsk ) is a former Belarusian - German basketball player .

career

The Belarusian national player started playing for VfL Bochum in the first women's basketball league from 1995 . In 1998 she moved to City Basket Berlin within the league. After a year in the capital, she was hired in Chemnitz and thus continued to play in the Bundesliga. In the 2000/2001 season, the 1.76-meter-long winger was back in Bochum's service in the top German division. In the meantime, under the name Elena Hennig, she was represented in the Bundesliga with BBV Leipzig from 2003 . Hennig's strengths lay particularly in throwing from distance. In 2005 she moved to HSG Mittweida in the regional league. At the end of January 2008 she went from Mittweida to the ChemCats Chemnitz and thus back to the Bundesliga. There she played until the end of the 2007/08 season and then again in Mittweida as a player-coach. Hennig worked as a qualified sports teacher at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences .
