Eleni Vassilika

Eleni Vassilika (* 20th century in Chicago ) is a Greek-American Egyptologist .

Eleni Vassilika studied first at the University of Athens (1977-78), then at Brooklyn College (BA in Classics 1979) and at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University (MA in Art History 1982, Ph.D. in Classical Archeology and Egyptology 1989 ). From 1990 to 2000 she headed the antique collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge , and from 2000 to 2005 she was director of the Roemer and Pelizaeus Museum in Hildesheim . From October 2005 to April 2014 she was director of the Museo Egizio in Turin .
