Elie Onana Eloundou (born October 13, 1951 in Okola , † April 2, 2018 in Yaoundé ) was a Cameroonian football player .

Club career

Elie Onana, nicknamed "Panka" (fighter), played exclusively for clubs in Cameroon throughout his career. With Canon Yaoundé reached the final of the African Cup Winners' Cup in 1984 and became national champions in 1985 and 1986.

National player

In 1982 he was in the squad of the "indomitable lions" at the African Cup of Nations in Libya and for the World Cup finals in Spain , where he played all three preliminary round matches against Italy , Poland and Peru . In both tournaments Cameroon was eliminated with three draws after the preliminary round.

In 1984 he was appointed to the Cameroon squad at the African Football Championship in Ivory Coast and for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , but was not used in either tournament.

Private

His brother Jules Onana (* 1964) also played for the Cameroonian national team.
