Elilla Bagge

Elilla Bagge (born October 28, 1847 in Altershausen ; † after 1901) was a German writer , translator and educator.

Life

Bagge was born in 1847 as the daughter of pastor Oskar Bagge, who worked as a writer. In addition to theological treatises, he also wrote folk writings.

Bagge was trained as an educator and then worked in Germany, Switzerland and England. She also worked as a language teacher. In the 1880s she published her first short stories and translations, mainly of works by the Swiss writer Adèle Huguenin , who wrote under the pseudonym T. Combe. Bagge moved to Leipzig , where she still lived in 1898.
