Elisabeth Katschnig-Fasch

Elisabeth Katschnig-Fasch (born June 28, 1947 in Tragöß -Oberort; † February 4, 2012 ) was an Austrian university professor at the Institute for Folklore and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Graz .

She studied folklore and psychology at the University of Graz up to her doctorate in 1976. In 1995, she received her habilitation on living and lifestyles, and 1997–98 substitute professorship (Greverus) at the Institute for Cultural Anthropology in Frankfurt / M. She was the founder and editor of the magazine Kuckuck: Notes on Everyday Culture, and co-editor of the Anthropological Yearbook of European Culture.
