Elisabeth Kovács
Elisabeth Kovács (born October 14, 1930 in Vienna ; † January 14, 2013 there ) was an Austrian historian.
Life
She studied history at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Vienna and taught at grammar schools in the federal capital. After her doctorate in 1952 and her habilitation in 1976, she became an assistant to Franz Loidl at the Institute for Church History at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna. Her specialty was Josephinism . Since the 1980s she has been an associate professor for modern Austrian history at the Philosophical Faculty in Vienna. Elisabeth Kovacs was a member of the historians' commission in the beatification proceedings for Emperor Charles I of Austria .
