Elisabeth Leitner (born March 11, 1948 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Leitner was a member of the Styrian state parliament from 2005 to 2010 .

education and profession

Leitner attended elementary and secondary school in Allerheiligen from 1954 to 1959 and then completed the lower level of the grammar school in Bruck an der Mur from 1959 to 1964 . After attending the commercial school between 1964 and 1967, Leitner worked as an office worker from 1967 to 1968 and then expanded her training from 1968 to 1969 at the Grabnerhof agricultural college . In 1980 she passed the master's examination for rural housekeeping. She was awarded the professional title of economist.

politics

Leitner has been a regional chamber councilor in the regional chamber for agriculture and forestry since March 17, 1991, and on January 20, she was elected as the deputy chairman of the social insurance institution for farmers . Leitner held the position of district farmer between October 1981 and June 2001 and has been a member of the state board of the Styrian farmers' union since April 21, 1990, where she was the women's representative from 1995 to 2000. Since April 8, 2000, Leitner has been the second deputy chairman of the Styrian Farmers' Union.

In addition, Leitner has chaired the education committee and the rural advanced training institute of the Chamber of Agriculture since 1991, was elected a member of the President's Conference in 1996 and Vice-President of the Chamber of Agriculture in 2002. Leitner represented the ÖVP from November 15, 2005 in the state parliament, into which it moved after the state government of Voves was formed . Within the ÖVP state parliament club, she held the position of area spokesperson for women, families and kindergartens.
