Elisabeth Lenhardt (born August 27, 1909 in Zurich-Wiedikon ; died August 9, 1974 in Horgen ) was a Swiss teacher and author of children's books.

Life

Elisabeth Lenhardt was an elected teacher in Horgen-Arn from 1934 to 1973. She came to writing through her teaching job, as she wanted to bring variety to the reading material of her students. She was the author of thirteen booklets that were published by the Schweizerischen Jugendschriftenwerk (SJW booklets), four picture books, eight longer stories and nine reading primers. The painter Reinhold Kündig , who moved to Horgen, illustrated some of the books. In 1973 she received the community's first culture award.
