Elisabeth Mühlen

Elisabeth Mühlens (born June 14, 1949 in Kleve ) is a German lawyer. She is married to the lawyer Peter Mühlens (judge, then Federal Ministry of Justice, later member of a board of appeal of the European Patent Office ).

Career

Mühlens completed her legal training in 1975. Then she was taken over to the higher judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. There she subsequently worked at the Kleve Regional Court . At the beginning of 1990 she was promoted to judge at the Higher Regional Court after a three-year secondment to the Federal Ministry of Justice . In this position, she worked in a family senate at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court . Since October 1991 she has again headed various departments in the Federal Ministry of Justice. In 1996 she was appointed Ministerial Councilor. Most recently she headed the unit "Civil litigation; labor court proceedings". In 1999 she was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice (BGH). There she belonged to the 10th Civil Senate until her retirement on October 1, 2013, which was approved in accordance with the application , where she mainly dealt with patent law. In the meantime, however, she was assigned to the Xa Auxiliary Senate for two years , where she was most recently deputy chairman.
