Elisabeth Mette

Elisabeth Mette (* 1953 in Niederding , Upper Bavaria) is a German lawyer. She is President of the Bavarian State Social Court .

Career

Elisabeth Mette began her professional career in 1979 as a member of the government. A. at the Munich II pension office. In June 1980 she was transferred as a probationary judge to the Munich Social Court and shortly afterwards transferred to the Augsburg Social Court. From January 2000 she worked as a judge at the Bavarian State Social Court, since January 1, 2007 as the presiding judge at the State Social Court in Schweinfurt. With effect from January 1, 2009, she was appointed head of the branch of the Bavarian State Social Court in Schweinfurt and on October 15, 2009 she was appointed Vice President of the Bavarian State Social Court.

On July 13, 2010, the Bavarian Council of Ministers appointed her to succeed the resigning Klaus Brödl as President of the Regional Social Court. This makes her one of only three women who run a court in Bavaria.

In 2009 she was also appointed judge at the Bavarian Constitutional Court.

Since July 15, 2020, Elisabeth Mette has been the arbitrator of the arbitration board of the legal profession, which was established at the Federal Bar Association according to § 191f BRAO .
