The Bavarian State Social Court is Bavaria's highest social justice court . Since September 1, 2018, the president has been Günther Kolbe.

Seat and District of the Court

The regional social court (LSG) has its seat in Munich , in Schweinfurt there is a branch . The judicial district covers the entire area of ​​the state. The Senates in Munich are basically responsible for appeals and complaints against decisions made by the social courts in southern Bavaria (Augsburg, Landshut, Munich, Regensburg), while the Senate in Schweinfurt is responsible for northern Bavaria (Bayreuth, Nuremberg and Würzburg social courts). Since, for legal reasons, the branch has to be smaller than the actual LSG, not all specialist senates are available in Schweinfurt. Some of the Munich Senates are also responsible for northern Bavarian decisions.
