Bavarian State Social Court
The Bavarian State Social Court is Bavaria's highest social justice court . Since September 1, 2018, the president has been Günther Kolbe.
Seat and District of the Court
The regional social court (LSG) has its seat in Munich , in Schweinfurt there is a branch . The judicial district covers the entire area of the state. The Senates in Munich are basically responsible for appeals and complaints against decisions made by the social courts in southern Bavaria (Augsburg, Landshut, Munich, Regensburg), while the Senate in Schweinfurt is responsible for northern Bavaria (Bayreuth, Nuremberg and Würzburg social courts). Since, for legal reasons, the branch has to be smaller than the actual LSG, not all specialist senates are available in Schweinfurt. Some of the Munich Senates are also responsible for northern Bavarian decisions.
Courthouse
The LSG is located at Ludwigstrasse 15, 80539 Munich ( Maxvorstadt district ). The branch in Schweinfurt is located at Rusterberg 2, 97421 Schweinfurt ( Altstadt district ).

The library of the Landessozialgericht Bayern is a non-public reference library with the main focus:
- Old-age insurance for farmers
- Employment Promotion
- Contract doctor, contract psychotherapist and contract dentist law
- Child benefit law
- Health insurance
- Social compensation law
- care insurance
- Pension insurance
- Severely handicapped law
- Accident insurance
It can also be used by non-judicial persons.
Mediation
Since 1 September 2006, can the Bavarian Social Court and the Social Court Munich a project under after the action was brought a mediation be made.

- Regensburg (responsible for the Upper Palatinate )
- Augsburg (responsible for Swabia )
- Würzburg (responsible for Lower Franconia ) with an LSG branch in Schweinfurt
