The Aschaffenburg District Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of 22 regional courts in the Free State of Bavaria .

history

The district court of the older order

In the Principality of Aschaffenburg since 1808 was the City Court Aschaffenburg . After Aschaffenburg fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1814 , the city court was upheld and the Aschaffenburg district court (older order) was also established.

On July 1, 1862, administration and justice were separated in the Kingdom of Bavaria. The Aschaffenburg district court remained responsible for the judiciary. The district court remained unchanged. The district court of Aschaffenburg was superordinate to the regional court. On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was formed in Aschaffenburg , the district of which corresponded to the previous judicial district of the Aschaffenburg regional and municipal court.

The Aschaffenburg regional court was created at the same time as a newer regional court under the Courts Constitution Act of 1879. The precursor was the Aschaffenburg District Court, founded in 1857 .

The main course is located at Erthalstraße 3 in Aschaffenburg. The building was built between 1957 and 1960 and is a listed building.

Superordinate and subordinate courts

The Aschaffenburg Regional Court is one of seven regional courts over which the Bamberg Higher Regional Court is superordinate. The district courts in Aschaffenburg and Obernburg am Main are subordinate .
