Bayreuth Regional Court
The Bayreuth Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of 22 regional courts in the Free State of Bavaria .
District Court District
The district of the Landgericht (LG) Bayreuth extends in addition to the independent city of Bayreuth to the districts of Bayreuth and Kulmbach .
Superordinate and subordinate courts
The Bayreuth Regional Court is one of seven regional courts over which the Bamberg Higher Regional Court is superordinate. The district courts in Bayreuth and Kulmbach are subordinate .
history
In 1812 Bayreuth established its own regional court in Bayreuth (older order) , and since 1857 there was also a district court . In 1879, the former regional court of the older order was converted into the district court of Bayreuth in accordance with the Reich's uniform court constitution law of 1877 , and the district court became the new regional court.
Courthouse
The court is housed in the Justice Palace at Wittelsbacherring 22, which was inaugurated on December 15, 1904. The building was erected from 1901 in the historicizing Art Nouveau style, the facade was included in the list of protected cultural assets of the Hague Convention on December 12, 1984 .
The public prosecutor's office and parts of the Bayreuth District Court are also housed in the Palace of Justice . Due to a lack of space, business areas have recently been outsourced to three other buildings in the vicinity.
