Contract psychotherapist

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The contract psychotherapist (conventionally also health insurance psychotherapist) is a licensed , resident psychotherapist with a contract psychotherapist seat . The approval as a contract doctor is regulated in the authorization regulation and sets the entry in a medical register ahead. The medical register is kept by the statutory health insurance associations, which organize outpatient medical and psychotherapeutic care. Admission is granted by resolution of an admissions committee and is only valid for the district of the contract psychotherapist's seat. Regardless of the contractual relationship, the contract psychotherapist is one of the liberal professions in Germany and Austria .

Organization and legal

Until the Psychotherapists Act (PsychThG) was passed in 1999, psychotherapists were still dependent on the assignment of doctors in the so-called delegation procedure. This distinction was abandoned by the legislature in the course of a reform of the health system . Since January 1, 1999, the licensing requirements have been in effect analogous to the Physicians Licensing Ordinance.

The contract psychotherapist can alone, in a group practice , in a professional association (formerly group practice ), in part or group practice in a medical care center operate. Psychotherapists employed in medical care centers do not have contract psychotherapist status, but, as they have to be entered in the doctor's register, they are members of the respective statutory health insurance associations.

For the psychological psychotherapists, a requirement plan from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians determines how many therapists are allowed to settle in a district. Therefore, in many areas, a free branch is no longer possible. Cash register approvals are also being sold by retiring colleagues.

Termination of the registration

Until 2008, health insurance psychotherapists automatically lost their license as a contract psychotherapist when they reached the age of 68. This was repealed by the Bundestag on October 17, 2008 with effect from January 1, 2009. The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians will decide whether to continue an existing psychotherapy practice after the return of the registered office. This replacement procedure is regulated in Section 103 (4) SGB V. The drawing of a pension from the occupational pension scheme depends on the respective psychotherapist care .
