Bavarian Administrative Court of Bayreuth
The Bavarian Administrative Court of Bayreuth was established on December 1, 1949. It is the youngest of the six Bavarian administrative courts . 27 judges are active in nine chambers .
Seat and jurisdiction
Like each of the Bavarian Administrative Courts (VG), the VG Bayreuth has its seat at the place of government of the respective administrative district . The administrative district of Upper Franconia thus also forms the local jurisdiction of the court.
Courthouse
After initially only provisional accommodation, the court moved into the premises in the former Meyern'schen Palais at Friedrichstrasse 16 in Bayreuth in 1950 . The building, completed in 1751, was built for Johann Gottlob von Meyern according to plans by the Bayreuth court architect at the time, Joseph Saint-Pierre (1708 / 9–1754) . From 1756 to 1763 the "Academy of Liberal Arts and Sciences" was housed in the house. The building had served as an officers' mess since 1880 and was owned by the Reichswehr or Wehrmacht until the end of the war.
