The Amberg Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Amberg . It is one of 22 regional courts in the Free State of Bavaria .

Court seat and district

The seat of the regional court (LG) is Amberg ; the judicial district includes the independent city of Amberg and the districts of Amberg-Sulzbach and Schwandorf .

207 lawyers (as of December 31, 2013) are admitted to the Amberg district court .

history

Amberg is an old court seat of the Electoral Palatinate and later of the Duchy of Bavaria . A Bavarian regional court of the older order had existed in Amberg since 1803, and a district court since 1857 . On the occasion of the complete separation of jurisprudence and administration in the right bank of the Rhine region of the Kingdom of Bavaria , which came into force on July 1, 1862 , the previous Amberg City Court was merged with the Amberg Regional Court to form a city and regional court. 1879 by the rich uniform Gerichtsverfassungsgesetz of 1877, the former (older order) Country Court Amberg in the District Court Amberg converted from the District Court was the new district court Amberg.

Courthouse

The district court of Amberg is housed in the former electoral government chancellery in Government Street 8 in Amberg, an important building of the Renaissance . The oldest regional court building in Bavaria was inaugurated after ten years of general renovation.

Superordinate and subordinate courts

The Amberg Regional Court is one of five regional courts over which the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court is superordinate; subordinate are the local courts in Amberg and Schwandorf .

The President of the Regional Court is Harald Riedl, who was previously Chief Public Prosecutor at the Amberg Public Prosecutor's Office . Vice-president of the regional court is Roswitha Stöber. The director of the regional court is senior judicial officer Josef Auer.
