Schleswig-Holstein State Social Court
The Schleswig-Holstein State Social Court is a court of the Schleswig-Holstein social jurisdiction .
Seat and District of the Court
The regional social court (LSG) has its seat in Schleswig . The judicial district covers the entire area of the state.
Courthouse and History
The LSG is located in Gottorfstr. 2 , where the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court and the Public Prosecutor General are also located. The listed building is popularly known as the “Red Elephant”. The Schleswig Social Court was also located in this building until 2005 . Christine Fuchsloch is the president.
The building was built between 1876 and 1878 and was the seat of the former Prussian provincial government of the province of Schleswig-Holstein . Here resided the first Prussian Upper President , and here he was commissioned by the Chancellor Otto von Bismarck , the Reich Insurance Code .
In addition, the Upper Insurance Office was previously housed there. Its judicial function was taken over by the regional social court.

The Federal Social Court is superordinate to the Schleswig-Holstein State Social Court. Subordinate courts are the social courts of Kiel , Lübeck , Itzehoe and Schleswig .
