The State Social Court of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the State Social Court (LSG) of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Seat and District of the Court

The seat of the LSG M – V was relocated from Neubrandenburg to Neustrelitz on March 2, 2015 as part of the court structure reform . The regional social court is located here together with the Neustrelitz branch of the Waren (Müritz) district court in the listed building complex Tiergartenstrasse 5 / corner of Töpferstrasse 13a . The street-side public access to the courts is signposted accordingly at the main building at Tiergartenstrasse 5.

The judicial district includes the districts of the associated social courts and thus the entire area of ​​the state with more than 1.6 million inhabitants.

In building Töpferstraße 13a Waren (Müritz) was in before conversion into a branch of the AG, the Amtsgericht Neustrelitz . The building was erected in 1865 as a grand ducal regional court with courtroom together with the associated prison building in the courtyard according to plans by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel .

The building at Tiergartenstrasse 5 was built in the 18th century as a town house, then bought by the ruling Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and initially used as a military administration building , later as a grand ducal library with a secret archive and museum (where the grand ducal coin and antiquity collection known as the “Georgium” is kept) utilized. During the GDR era there was a branch of the Ministry for State Security of the GDR (MfS) in the building. The prison building in the courtyard used by the MfS as a pre-trial detention center is now a place of remembrance of this time. Black steles with corresponding inscription on the footpath leading past the building indicate this.

The regional social court was previously housed in Neubrandenburg in a listed building at Richtstrasse 10 .
