Elisabeth Nobiling

The clock tower ( Torre do relógio ) in the Cidade Universitária Armando de Salles Oliveira is a work of Nobiling.

Olga Elisabeth Magda Henriette Nobiling (born December 9, 1902 in São Vicente ; † May 5, 1975 in São Paulo ) was a Brazilian sculptor , ceramicist and graphic artist .

Nobiling studied a. a. with Edwin Scharff and Klipech in Germany before returning to Brazil in 1934. There she worked with Victor Brecheret and joined the artist group Grupo dos Sete . In the late 1940s she was a lecturer at the Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro . In 1953 she became a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo .

She was represented at the first and second São Paulo biennials in 1951 and 1953.
