The Instituto Cultural Itaú is a Brazilian not-for-profit cultural foundation of the Itaú Unibanco based in São Paulo . It was conceived by Olavo Setúbal and created in 1986 by Law No. 7505 (of October 3, 1986). The aim of the institute is to depict artistic manifestations and to promote artistic research and production in relation to all cultural areas.

Itaú Cultural offers the Rumos program for cultural research, cataloging of manifestations in the fields of visual arts , film , dance , literature , theater and music . It also organizes the Emoção Art.ficial Art and Technology Biennale.

In addition, the institute administers the Enciclopédia Itaú Cultural de Arte e Cultura Brasileira (“ Itaú Cultural Encyclopedia of Brazilian Art and Culture”). The Enciclopédia is a Brazilian online encyclopedia about Brazilian art. It emerged in 2001 from the database Banco de Dados Informatizado ICI , created in 1987 , which dealt with Brazilian painting.
