Elisabeth Prégardier

Elisabeth Prégardier (born July 8, 1934 in Essen ) is a German author and Catholic association functionary. She was the deputy managing director of Adveniat . As an author, she is particularly dedicated to the role of women in the resistance against National Socialism .

Life

Elisabeth Prégardier first became a teacher and in September 1963 became the first full-time employee of the Episcopal Action Adveniat . Later she was deputy managing director of the campaign for more than 30 years.

Prégardier was a member of the Catholic German Women's Association (KDFB) and chaired the KDFB diocesan association in the diocese of Essen .

With particular commitment, she devoted herself to researching the resistance of Catholic women against National Socialism. Her main focus was above all the biographies of women from the environment of the attempted coup of July 20, 1944 and from the Ravensbrück concentration camp . From 1991, together with Anne Mohr and Gisela Multhaupt, she organized encounters with former prisoners of the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp from Poland.
