Elisabeth Schmierer

Elisabeth Schmierer (* 1955 in Tübingen ) is a German musicologist . She researches and teaches at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen .

Career

Elisabeth Schmierer graduated from high school in Freudenstadt and first studied school music at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts . This was followed by studying musicology, history and art history at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel, where she also received her doctorate in 1989. Her habilitation took place at the Technical University of Berlin . She has been teaching in Essen since 2000. She is married to Matthias Brzoska .
