Elisabeth Staengel

Elisabeth Staengel (born July 29, 1882 in Untertürkheim ; † October 31, 1973 ; born Elisabeth Reitz ) was a German entrepreneur.

Career

Staengel was married to Otto Staengel, the owner of the Eszet cocoa and chocolate factory Staengel und Ziller in Untertürkheim . After the death of her husband in August 1926 and her brother-in-law Ernst in March 1931, she continued to run the company as the sole owner. Her two sons Rolf (* 1909) and Hans-Eberhard (* 1911) died on the Eastern Front in 1942.

On January 1, 1950, the company was converted into a limited partnership and Elisabeth Staengel became the personally liable, managing partner.

In July 1952 she was awarded the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
