Elise Bethge-Truhn , born in Anna Marie Elisabeth Truhn (born March 4, 1838 in Berlin , † January 12, 1889 in Lübeck ) was a German theater actress and writer .

Life

Bethge-Truhn, the daughter of the royal music director Hieronymus Truhn , who had no objection to his daughter turning to the stage, first took acting lessons from Auguste Crelinger , then from Sophie Schröder in Hamburg and stepped on stage for the first time in Stettin in 1854 . In 1855 she worked at the city theater in Riga, in 1856 at the court theater in Schwerin. In Schwerin itself she appeared on December 2, 1875 as "Britta" in the play "Karin von Schweden", which she wrote herself.

In general, she has earned a good reputation not only as a stage artist, but also as a stage writer.
