Elise Rahn-Bärlocher

Elise Rahn-Bärlocher , née Elise Rahn ( July 15, 1845 in St. Gallen - November 1, 1925 in Zurich ), was a Swiss women's rights activist.

Life

Rahn-Bärlocher was the daughter of the businessman Bartholome Bärlocher and Anna Rosalie geb. Zellweger .

She became known through collaboration in various church and charitable associations. In 1887 she was co-founder and until 1907 president of the "Zurich Women's Association for the Elevation of Morality". In 1888 she took part in the petition and in 1897 in the voting campaign for the abolition of brothels in Zurich. She was a co-founder of rescue homes for morally vulnerable girls and single mothers.

She was married to the banker Ludwig Rahn.
