Elitecad is a CAD program from Xeometric , which is available as an industry solution for architecture as well as mechanical and plant engineering .

Functionality

Elitecad AR is a model-oriented 3D CAD software for planning buildings, from which plans are generated in various representations through to photo-realistic rendering and mass extracts. The 3D building is made up of parameterized objects (walls, doors, windows, roofs, etc.) and can be defined and modified in any view. Extensive 2D functionality is available for additions to plans or for working out details. In addition to the basic CAD functionality, there are additional modules for sewer systems and terrain modeling. Elitecad AR is IFC 2x3 Level 2 certified.

There are additional modules that offer functions such as pipeline construction , terrain , machine elements and standard parts . In contrast to Elitecad AR, Elitecad ME uses the 3D ACIS modeler and also exists as a pure 2D version.

application

Elitecad AR is mainly used as a standard CAD system in architecture , interior design , site planning and construction related trades . Elitecad AR is used as a planning tool for the three-dimensional planning of buildings, settlements, superstructures with several structures and any number of floors. The area of application extends from small projects such as single-family houses, office buildings, public buildings and hotels to large projects such as shopping centers, hospitals, high-rise buildings, residential complexes, airports, etc.

The main applications of Elitecad ME are in the field of mechanical engineering, plant construction and infrastructure planning. In the combination of plant construction and terrain construction, Elitecad is one of the industry leaders and is used, among other things, for the planning of cable cars, lifts and conveyor systems in the extraction of raw materials. A special application is the planning of the RopeCon conveyor systems from the Austrian cable car specialist Doppelmayr .

history

The engineering service provider HAN-Dataport began in the early 1980s to create interactive drawings with the help of computer technology. The previous software CAD400 was used internationally by many companies. There were several versions of CAD400 that were adapted to the respective application. Versions for architecture, building services, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and CAM were developed. During this time the connection to Roland Messerli AG (today Messerli Informatik AG ), which carried out the distribution of the software for Switzerland, was established.

With the advent of 3D modellers in the early 1990s, HAN-Dataport also began developing a 3D attachment for CAD400. At the same time, the new development of a CAD kernel began under the name Elite . Version 1.0 came out in 1995. Elite was originally developed on UNIX . With the porting to Windows at the end of the 1990s, a distinction was made between EliteNT and EliteUX .

In 2001, the CAD activities of HAN-Dataport were separated and sold to Messerli Informatik GmbH . With the change the UNIX version has been discontinued and EliteNT on EliteCAD renamed. With the application, Messerli Informatik focused on the core areas of architecture and mechanics. The other areas were partially given to partners or discontinued. This realignment resulted in the two product lines Elitecad AR and Elitecad ME, the data of which are compatible.

In 2017 the company Messerli Informatik GmbH was renamed to Xeometric GmbH.
