Elizabeth Panzer is an American harpist and composer of avant-garde jazz and improvised music .

biography

Elizabeth Panzer studied at New York's Manhattan School of Music and is a harpist with the Bridgeport Symphony . She recorded pieces such as Speculum Musicae , North / South Consonance and the New Music Consort with her ensemble of new music ; she has also worked with jazz musicians such as Reggie Workman ( Cerebral Caverns ), Butch Morris and her own trio Talking Harp . She is also a founding member of the avant-garde band Dadadah . Furthermore, she worked in 1989 on the album World Beyond Words by Kali Fasteau ; 1995 on Ralph Simon's album Music for the Millennium . It can also be heard on Philip Johnston's 1998 album Music for Films .

Some of her compositions for solo harp are published on her album Dancing In Place . She has received composition commissions from organizations such as Meet the Composer and the New York State Council of the Arts . Panzer claims to be musically influenced by Butch Morris, Reggie Workman, Gerry Hemingway , Anne LeBaron , LaDonna Smith , Anthony Braxton and Nils Vigeland .
