Elizabeth Stuart

Elizabeth Stuart (* 1963 in Kent , England ) is a Christian theologian, professor and author from the United Kingdom .

Stuart has published various works in the field of sexual ethics , gender studies, queer theology and Christian mysticism in particular .

Stuart is Professor of Christian Theology at the University of Winchester in the UK and Director of the Center for the Study of Theology and Religion . She is co-editor of the academic journal Theology and Sexuality .

Stuart was ordained bishop of the Open Episcopal Church . She later left this church and is currently a member of the Liberal Catholic Church International . In 2006 she became Archbishop of the Province of Great Britain and Ireland of the Liberal Catholic Church International .
