Elke Pahud de Mortanges (* 1962 ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

She studied Catholic theology in Tübingen . From 1987 to 1993 research assistant at the chair for fundamental theology at the University of Tübingen . In 1989 she was awarded the Carl Joseph Hefele Prize of the Bishop of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese . After receiving her doctorate in Fundamental Theology in 1992 on " Ernst Bloch and Christianity", she was awarded the Ernst Bloch Prize of the City of Ludwigshafen in 1994. From 1995 to 2000 she was a lecturer for fundamental theology at the theological faculty of the University of Friborg . After completing his habilitation in 2001 at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg with the thesis “Philosophy and Church Authority. The case of the Munich philosophy professor Jakob Frohschammer ”. She taught as a private lecturer , freelance lecturing and project work (Archaeological Service Bern; University of Bern ; FrauenGeschichte Friborg). Since 2008 she has been teaching as an adjunct professor for dogmatics and the history of dogma at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Since 2011 she has been an external research assistant at the “Institute for the Study of Religions and Interreligious Dialogue” (University of Friborg).

Her main research interests are the history of theology and piety of modern times / religion and cultural history / women's religion history, intra-religious and inter-religious explorations in the horizon of the question of God, "old" and "new" atheism, measurements in the area of ​​theology and literature, art and philosophy and questions of theological epistemology / How do we know what Christian is.
