Live and act

Ellen Müller-Dethard, b. Irmisch, was born on 1926 in Berlin, Alt-Moabit, as the first child of Captain Kurt Irmisch and his wife Hertha in the Reichswehr Ministry. After completing high school at the Elisabeth Granier School in Hanover, she studied medicine at the University of Göttingen from 1946 to 1950 . Hans-Hermann Müller-Dethard, helped set up an internal medicine practice as an assistant in Hanover, in which she actively worked for 16 years. After the early death of her husband in 1966, Ellen Müller-Dethard, the mother of four small children, resumed the medical studies she had begun in Göttingen. She passed her state examination on December 6, 1967 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Göttingen. In 1969 she was at the Women's Clinic of Hannover Medical School (MHH) Dr. med. PhD. From 1970 Ellen Müller-Dethard worked as a staff doctor and student doctor, later as a senior staff doctor at the Medical University of Hanover and was thus responsible for occupational medical care and occupational safety of the employees. This made her a pioneer in occupational medicine at hospitals. In 1972 she was recognized as a general practitioner.
